Member Guidelines
Welcome to the Hmar Open Dictionary! Our goal is to build a rich, reliable, and community-powered dictionary supporting:
- Hmar → Hmar
- Hmar → English
- English → Hmar
1. Types of Entries
- Hmar → Hmar: Define the word or phrase in Hmar.
- Hmar → English: Translate and define the word or phrase into English.
- English → Hmar: Translate and define the word or phrase into Hmar.
2. Submitting New Words
- Use proper spelling and grammar for both Hmar and English.
- Check for duplicates using the search bar before adding a word.
- If possible, include an example sentence in either Hmar or English.
3. Editing & Improving
- Only edit an entry if you are confident in the correction.
- Do not remove or overwrite existing content without valid reason.
- Always aim to improve clarity, spelling, and correctness.
4. Quality & Tone
- Use clear, neutral, and respectful language.
- Offensive or joke entries are not allowed.
- Only include slang, idioms, or rare words if marked and defined clearly.
5. Respect & Conduct
- Be respectful to fellow contributors and editors.
- Contributions must reflect honesty and cultural responsibility.
- Repeated abuse or false entries will result in removal.
6. Review & Approval
- All entries are reviewed by admins before being published.
- Edits may be reverted or corrected if inaccurate.
7. Contribution Credits
- Your name will be saved as the Contributor of an entry.
- Multiple contributors may be credited for collaborative work.
