Houttuynia cordata, commonly known as fish mint, fish leaf, rainbow plant, chameleon plant, heart leaf, fish wort, or Chinese lizard tail, is known for its distinctive flavour and aroma.
The leaves and roots are edible and often consumed raw in salads. It has a pungent, fish-like flavour. It is typically paired with chili and fermented fish, especially in chutneys.
